This year’s Thanksgiving potluck, affectionately dubbed Gratitude Gardens, was everything we hoped for and more. Good food, good people, good laughs… and maybe a little competitive tension around the Jenga tower.
We kicked off the day with a team site visit to the recently finished Farmers Market project. Vince and Pat took the team around the market, highlighting the features that make this project such a standout for the community. The stage and awning look incredible, and seeing the finished product together reminded us why we do what we do: to create spaces that make a difference for our community.
Gratitude Gardens officially began with something a little special. Throughout the past month or so, team members have written their thoughts on sticky notes posted around the offices and projects. Reading them aloud brought a moment of reflection and connection. Hearing what everyone is grateful for this year set the tone beautifully for the rest of the event.
And then came…the food. Unbelievable. Legendary. We tasted new dishes, revisited favorites, and confirmed once again that VPG knows how to throw down in the kitchen. Whether it was homemade or store bought (no shame at all), every dish was a hit.
Before the food coma set in, we paused to hand out some VPG Bucks! Nothing makes us prouder than seeing how our people nominate, celebrate, and hype each other up. It’s one of the things that makes VPG feel like family.
Then it was time for games. Jenga? High stakes. Cards? Of course. Did Dre lose this time? We may not know - but what we do know is that the room was filled with laughter, competition, and the kind of joy that only happens when coworkers genuinely enjoy each other’s company.
As we wrapped up the day, one thing was clear: Gratitude Gardens wasn’t great because of the decorations, or the games, or even the unbelievable food. It was great because of you - our team. Thank you for showing up, bringing your dishes, your energy, and your gratitude!
Here’s to many more moments like this - shared meals, shared memories, and the shared belief that VPG is more than a workplace. It’s a community. It’s a family. And we’re grateful for every single one of you. 🍁✨
