We are proud to welcome two outstanding high school interns, Kentany Mendez and Shykim McKnight, through our joint venture with Ratcliff Construction.

Kentany and Shykim are rising seniors at McKinley Senior High School in Baton Rouge, the very school where our team is helping build a new state-of-the-art campus for the East Baton Rouge School District. McKinley holds a special place in Louisiana's history as the oldest Black high school in the state, making this project especially meaningful for everyone involved.

Kentany is a Pisces kid whose favorite color is blue, his favorite food is spaghetti and pizza. His favorite holiday is his birthday; his favorite snack is Takis and his favorite sports team is Real Madrid for Soccer. Kentany loves exercising at the gym, playing futbol, and playing his PS5 on his spare time. He is also a great uno player and is very proud of his accomplishment of scoring a 97% on his army fitness test!

Shykim is a bright young man whose favorite color is red, his favorite food is Rotel Dip, & Macaroni & Cheese. His favorite fast food is Canes, his favorite holiday is Christmas, his favorite snack is dynamites, and his favorite sports team is the New England Patriots. Shykim loves spending time outdoors; he also is a huge computer & X-Box gamer & is a Boxer in his spare time. He is very proud of the way he has been improving his grades and his overall boxing record of 15-6!

The new McKinley campus is part of a $30 million construction project designed to provide students with a modern learning environment that will serve generations to come. As construction progresses, we're excited to give two McKinley students the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the construction industry while contributing to the project that will benefit their own school community.

Throughout their internship, Kentany and Shykim will work alongside our project team, shadowing project managers and learning about the day-to-day operations of a major construction project. They will also assist with project documentation, organization, and other essential administrative tasks that help keep the project running smoothly. These experiences will provide valuable insight into the planning, coordination, and teamwork required to deliver successful construction projects.

Please join us in welcoming Kentany Mendez and Shykim McKnight to the team. We are excited to be part of their journey and can't wait to see what they accomplish!
