Welcome VPG’s Summer Intern Class!

We are excited to welcome JoeVan, Jolie, and Brooks to VPG!

Over the next few months, they will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn from our team members, and contribute across different areas of the organization. We are excited to support their growth, share what makes VPG special, and learn from the fresh perspectives they bring to the team.

JoeVan Shepherd

JoeVan joins the team as our Administrative Operations Intern for the VPG Holdings team. A New Orleans native, JoeVan brings creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to learn as he begins this next step in his career journey.

We are also excited to celebrate a major accomplishment with JoeVan, as he is the first person in his family to graduate from college, an achievement that reflects his dedication, perseverance, and commitment to creating new opportunities.

Fun facts: JoeVan’s favorite color is sky blue, and some of his favorite foods include fried chicken, pizza, and seafood. His go-to spots around the city include Copeland’s, We Dat’s, and New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood. Christmas and Thanksgiving are his favorite holidays, and Welch’s Fruit Snacks are always in the snack rotation. JoeVan is a true Louisiana sports fan, cheering on the Saints and Pelicans, while also supporting the LA Lakers. Outside of work, he enjoys basketball, drawing, and video games.

Jolie Shepard

Jolie joins VPG as our Marketing and Communications Intern for the VPG Holdings team. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Jolie brings creativity and excitement to the team as she supports our marketing efforts and gains hands-on experience within the industry.

Fun facts: Jolie’s favorite colors are brown, teal, and hot pink, and some of her favorite foods include pizza, chocolate, and pasta. Her favorite local spots include Turkey and the Wolf, Deanie’s, and Joey K’s. She loves Christmas and Mardi Gras, the Dallas Mavericks, and enjoys dancing, singing, and making crafts. Jolie recently accomplished a major personal goal by purchasing her first car in cash. Another fun fact? She is left-handed!

Brooks Barrios

Brooks joins VPG as an Asset Management Intern, bringing a strong passion for learning, growth, and taking on new challenges. Originally from Thibodaux, Louisiana, Brooks recently completed his Master of Architecture and is currently pursuing his MSRED. He is proud of completing a demanding graduate program while working, showing his commitment, discipline, and drive.

Fun facts: Brooks loves the outdoors and enjoys running, hunting, hiking, fishing, filming, cooking, and turning a normal weekend into an adventure. He is currently training for a 100-mile race and has placed in the top 500 at the Crescent City Classic two years in a row. His favorite foods include gumbo, boudin, cracklins, steak, shrimp poboys, and anything cooked outside or in a black pot. He is also an LSU fan and enjoys stock trading in his free time.
